Chemilab provides HPLC analysis on state-of-the-art Agilent systems and verified separation columns. We use ultraviolet (UV) and refractory index (RI) detectors. For more demanding research methods, a PDA (Photo Diode Array) detector is also available.
Our equipment allows for the testing of light-sensitive and thermolabile samples. HPLC is one of the most powerful analytical techniques, with a wide range of uses, for both final products and raw materials. We have experience in performing content testing, chromatographic purity testing and other qualitative tests for in-process, control, validation and stability studies.
Dissolution testing for active ingredients in pharmaceutical final products is one of the pillars of Chemilab’s laboratory offer. The dissolution test is a critical pharmaceutical parameter for tablets and capsules, as it defines the release of active ingredients in medicinal products. The test is carried out in Agilent devices, which are known for their reliability and robustness in pharmaceutical laboratory settings. The tests are performed with stirrers, baskets, various media, and profile sampling, in connection with suitable spectroscopic detection.
Soon after starting laboratory activities and obtaining its first clients, Chemilab recognised the importance of offering gas chromatography and purchased Agilent chromatography systems to include in its offer. Separation through high-throughput capillary columns or traditional glass/metal columns covers a wide range of analysis of volatile components through FID (Flame-Ionization Detector) or TCD (Thermal Conductivity Detector) detectors. The staff performing such analyses have several years of experience of working on various samples and determining the content of residual solvents in pharmaceutical, environmental, biological and other samples.
After the appropriate prior processing, tests not burdened with a high separativity of components are analysed by reliable high-robustness spectrophotometers manufactured by Varian. The identification and quantitative determination of various chromophoric substance samples have been performed in Chemilab since the very beginning, being a fast, elegant and reliable method of measurement in both routine testing and as support for research activities. The absorption characteristics of substances within the visible and ultraviolet spectrum allow for a precise evaluation of concentration and reliable identification, or provide additional information.
Mass spectrometry (MS) is a sensitive and powerful analytical method for the substance identification. The instrument separates ions in the gas phase according to the mass-charge ratio. The fragments deflection take place in a homogeneous magnetic field or high-frequency electric field. The result of detection is the mass spectrum. The result of valuation is the structure of an unknown molecule. In ChemiLab, this technique is used by top specialists who develop methods and discover the composition of unknown patterns. Complex industrial and biological samples are distinguished on fractions by pairing the MS apparatus with high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC), which ease work on MS and increases resolution and sensitivity determination (LC-MS).
